Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff, known to fans of the cult TV series Mystery Science Theater 3000 as “Dr. Clayton Forrester” and “TV’s Frank” respectively, present a series of livestreams, The Mads Are Back! Frank and Trace continue the tradition of Mystery Science Theater 3000-style movie “riffing” LIVE and online.

Both Beaulieu & Conniff were writers & cast members on MST3K throughout the nineties and toured as part of Cinematic Titanic along with MST3K creator Joel Hodson and original MST3K writers & stars Mary Jo Pehl & J. Elvis Weinstein.

In 2015, Beaulieu and Conniff began touring movie theaters throughout the country as The Mads Are Back, offering their signature brand of quick-witted commentary (known to MST3K fans as “riffing”) over numerous B-movies.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dumb Industries began producing a livestream version of The Mads Are Back, offering monthly live-riffs of movies, including some they had previously screened on tour including Glen or Glenda, The Tingler, and Walk The Dark Street.

From July 2020 through July 2024, The Mads released 49 episodes including 16 shorts compilations, and welcomed guests such as Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy & Bill Corbett (from RiffTrax), Bridget Nelson, Beez McKeever, Rich Koz (“Svengoolie”), Jonah Ray, and many other cast members and writers from Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Although The Mads Are Back is no longer a monthly tradition, you can still watch rebroadcasts every Friday @ 9pm ET on our Twitch channel. Stay tuned for additional events from The Mads and Dumb Industries.
