March poll results are in!
Happy Leap Year Day. It is my daughter-in-law's birthday so the family will have a nice dinner and celebration together. It is also National Toast Day and National Underlings Day, but I am unaware of any other special traditions for the day. Maybe you have a Leap Day celebration you want to share with us.
March Polls! And get ready for Saturday!
Thank all of you who attended last Saturday's painting class. Chris can let me know for sure, but I believe this last class was our best in-person attended one so far. What great interpretations of Lone Tree! I hope you don't get tired of me saying how amazing I think you are and how much you inspire me.
Next class is tomorrow!
Hope you all had a good Valentine's Day. My day was packaging and mailing painting and book orders and feeling the love from you all. I have felt showered with love and support since my accident on January 29th. You've helped make a difficult time much less stressful. So many of my paintings from our classes have sold that there are few left.
This Saturday’s Class will be rescheduled to Next Saturday!
Hey All, I've given a lot of thought about how much to share about my health journey. I've decided to just be open because that is who I am at heart. I've always been healthy and strong but in October 2021, I had a car accident that totaled my Subaru. I had a seizure while driving that resulted in a couple of broken bones, a concussion, and then two grand mal seizures at the hospital. I was prescribed anti-seizure medication and was back to driving four months later.
February Polls are here!
Hello students. Here are the polls for the February classes. I noticed that last month a couple of our choices came in close to being chosen so I haven't added any new ones this month but I have watched a couple more MST movies and already know what inspiration I will be painting, so next month you will have two new ones to vote on Jackey Neyman Jones: The Hands of Paint. I've also got paintings you haven't seen for my Jackey Neyman Jones Paint Parties. Be sure to vote now for the February 10th and 24th classes, and stay tuned for this weeks blog on Thursday. I'll get it out on time this time..
Get ready to creep this Saturday!
The painting for this coming Saturday January 27th is inspired by The Creeping Terror. That was a very interesting creature. While watching, Mark and I really tried to figure out how it was built and operated. We were speculating the whole time, so were happy to learn of the movie about the movie. Turns out we were right. It did take three people to move it around.
The Creeping Terror on Deck!
Great class last week with our Winter bird painting... and what timing we had. The weather hit hard all over the place. On Saturday morning, I had to consider that I may not be able to get to my studio with the roads frozen. I was also concerned if we would have power and internet. Thankfully, all went as we would have hoped. The next day, and since then has been a whole other story. My whole town is a solid ice rink with hills. I'm comfortable inside, and try to stay there until Shanka and Mstie need to go out, and then I just try not to fall down. I am hoping you all are staying warm and safe... and maybe playing with your creativity a bit to fight off being cooped up.
Paint with us tomorrow!
Fellow Creators! How's your new year so far? Mine is showing promise for a better year. I love the wonderful collaborations with Chris Gersbeck in the building of our painting classes through Dumb Industries, and with Ryan Labreche in the management of Manos The Fans of Fate on Facebook and on Instagram.
Happy New Year, Painters!
We did it. We got through another Christmas, and I am looking forward to 2024. Our classes are going better than I imagined back when we began. You all are so creative. I love the surprises you bring and display in every painting session we have. The freedom and expression you show, helps me to free up too, and encourages all of us to experiment and explore. I will try to keep up with you by coming up with ideas you like and a variety to choose from, for our monthly polls. It's that time again for us to choose what the next paintings will be. Be sure to enter your votes for January, and remember, I am always open to new ideas for future classes.
This Saturday: Mr. B Natural!
Happy Holidays! Short blog today. Mainly want to wish you, your family and friends all the best as we prepare for a new year.
Thank you for…
Happy Holidays to my Painting Family
I hope you all are doing well as we approach the end of this year. Whatever your traditions or non traditions for December, I wish you the best in grace and resilience. I hope you take time for yourself to stay in balance, and that you get time with friends, family and those you love. If this is a rough time for you, I ask that you reach out to someone for comfort, and if you are in a good place, I ask you to share a bit of cheer with one who may be in need of some.
Arora B Natural!
Welcome to December!
2023 is drawing to an end as we travel through December as an intense month of energy in both joyful and challenging experiences. Sometimes at the same time. Whatever your story, I hope you can take time to care just for you….
Turkeys, Hobgoblins, & December Polls!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Hope you all have plans for the holiday in whatever fashion suits you.I've been playing Thanksgiving by ear, and happy for whatever happens, as long as I'm not cooking. Turns out…
November Moon!
Hey all!
Poll votes are in for November class. Drippy Moon is the choice for this coming Saturday November 11th and Hobgoblin will be our MST themed painting for our Hands of Paint class on November 25th…
November Poll Time!
Hope you all had a great Halloween. I very happily stayed home to watch a movie, and enjoy being a voyeur on social media. So many fun costumes and clever ideas to see from all over the place.
What a great Reptilicus painting class we had last Saturday. The variety of what you all created is as fabulous as always. I have to say I am very pleased with my own painting. Changing the background to the vibrant orange really made Reptilicus pop out from the canvas. If you haven't shared your version, please do.
Reptilicus! Reptilicus!
Reptilicus is coming to a painting surface near you this Saturday, October 28th, and, as always, you may create on any surface with any medium you desire. We all love the variety of work we are sharing.
If you want some inspiration heading into class, join us early on Saturday at 1pm ET for a special screening of REPTILICUS for our Hands of Paint students!
Art, Healing, Hands, & Paint!
How about that Bats in the Night class? Fabulous. It may be my new favorite for the Painting with Jackey class. Over time, as new people join us, and as we watch those who've been coming for a while experiment more with materials and technique, I am always learning too. I think less about how to tell you how to hold a brush, and more about encouraging you to relax and let your insides guide your outside. It is teaching me to be more aware of how I feel in that process. Whether we are viewers or creators, art heals. Thank you again for participating in these opportunities to come together.
Painters and Creators!
Halloween is nearly upon us. Really happy Night of the Bats was chosen in the poll for this upcoming Jackeys Hands of Paint class. I like the electric green I used in the painting we will be working from, but thinking of changing the background colors on Saturday, and encourage you to choose any colors you like for your piece of art.
Night of the Bat, Day of the Reptilicus!
Hey Ya'all,
I hope your October has started off well, and now that the brutally hot summer some of you dealt with has begun to cool off…
October Polls now open!
I love the Pumaman buckle interpretations you've done. Just as varied, creative, and fabulous as always. I finished my Pumaman buckle this week, and am happy with the results. Just putting out there that, if you are so inspired, feel free to paint a second version of any of your work. I really enjoy creating the ones for class, but I also love the opportunity I get to do them again while maybe adding something new or different.
