The Dumb Industries Story
Chris began his career in 2014 as a stand up comic in New York City. He started producing live comedy & podcasts shortly thereafter, working with comedians such as Dave Hill, with whom he produced Dave Hill’s Podcasting Incident, Dave Hill: History Fluffer and The Dave Hill Goodtime Hour for Maximum Fun.
In response to the pandemic, Chris began producing monthly livestreams in July 2020 under the Dumb Industries banner for The Mads Are Back featuring Mystery Science Theater 3000 alumni Trace Beaulieu & Frank Conniff.
The following year, Chris and Mary Jo Pehl (MST3K, Cinematic Titanic, RiffTrax) co-created The Mary Jo Pehl Show — a monthly online variety show with its audience playing an active role in shaping each episode.
Dumb Industries also produces Art Draws Us Together with Jackey Neyman Jones — an online art livestream led by the actress who played “Debbie” in the legendary B-movie Manos: The Hands of Fate — every second and fourth Saturday of the month directly on the Dumb website.
Dumb’s roster has continued to grow with Super Dumb Bros. (a weekly retro gaming livestream), The Witching Hour (a scripted comedy show created by associate producer Matt Reiser), and Movies Are Dumb (a scripted riffing show featuring Matt, Emmy Martian, and Chris) — with more original shows on the way.
